Location: Park's Quarters

It was the first time that Zayde had quarters to himself... and it felt empty as hell. Not only because he didn't have any bunk mate but because the one person that he thought he was going to be with the rest of his life had walked out on him. Well, not technically walked out but had sent him a letter and then canceled her own transfer to the Challenger. The reasons she gave were flimsy, at least in his opinion but every attempt to contact her had been made and failed.

He took that as a hint and after three long months finally started to move on. He took down every single photo and threw everything else that reminded him of her into deep storage on Earth. He had spent almost three years with Meredith, hell he was ready to propose to her had she not left him. He had no idea what he was supposed to do now.

"I guess I start over," he said, to his empty quarters. "New ship, new assignment, new me."

Zayde shook his head and sighed heavily, what he wouldn't give to have someone, anyone really to talk to about all this. He thought about trying his best friend again on subspace but last time the call had failed. Not once but three different times. Clearly, wherever his ship was it was on the fringes of Federation space. He gave up that up and pulled out a few PADDs. He might as well get some work done if he couldn't do anything else.
