Current Skylark Crew
- Commander Yulia Kohut - Executive Officer - Human Female
- While a scientist by trade, Kohut served aboard the USS Osaka during the Klingon War as a sensor officer. Quick thinking and memories of Klingon tactics allowed her to guide the Skylark into relative safety. At this point, though, she is increasingly exhausted and her only priority is the safety of the crew. She is willing to abandon the ship if it means preventing their capture.
- Lt. JG Tenvi Dallon - Navigator - Orion Male
- A young man on his first assignment as a bridge officer, he is distraught by the loss of the captain and his mentor, Lt. Ismail. He blames himself for failing to maintain the ship's charts and allowing them to enter a disputed system unawares. Only the need to focus on maintaining the ship's position in the chaotic ring system is keeping him going.
- Lt. T'Mel - CMO - Vulcan Female
- T'Mel has typical Vulcan stoicism, something that is keeping her small medical staff steady despite the overwhelming number of injured. She is spending most of her time going from one surgery to another, taking time only to respond to treatment queries from the nurses and corpsmen. She is concerned that many of the wounded are too unstable to move by shuttle or even transporter in the event of an evacuation.
- Lt. JG Yellek - Assistant Science Officer - Andorian Male
- A specialist in planetary sciences and geology, Yellek was in his lab when the Klingons attacked. He is angry about the entire situation, particularly with the bridge crew for failing to follow protocol and keep the ship safe from attack. While the safety of his remaining science staff is his top priority, he also views recovery of the ship's data systems as vital, as it represents months of work and includes vital strategic information - to say nothing of how the loss of his research data might impact his career progress.
- Lt. Idowu Kamodi - Security - Human Male
- As security officer of a science ship, Kamodi spends most of his time protecting landing parties from hostile fauna and rowdy shore leave than enemies. This was his first space engagement outside a simulation. He's still not sure how he managed to score a hit to the Klingons' engines and bought them enough time to find cover in the rings.
- Ensign Gilup - Power & Propulsion Systems - Tellarite Female
- Gilup leads what's left of the power systems team and believes she should have overall command of engineering. At present the warp core is offline and only one impulse engine is functioning, but the nacelle is intact. She believes that bringing primary power back online, and with it warp drive and full shield power, must be done immediately.
- Ensign N'Vol - Damage Control - Vulcan Male
- Ensign N'Vol is leading repair efforts on the ship's structure and other systems. There is significant hull damage to the aft sections of the saucer, especially around engineering and the pylon to the nacelle. He is butting heads with Gilup, as he believes engaging the engines first will result in catastrophic collapse.
- Ensign Kitari Jeya - Communications - Trill Female
- Thrown into the deep end on her first space mission, Jeya has been put to work coordinating the repair of secondary systems, especially the main computer and deflector. She is an expert at electronics and subspace systems, and is trying to keep tensions below decks from exploding. While a Joined trill, her symbiont's previous experiences as an experimental chef and a forest ranger are proving less than helpful.
Deceased Skylark Crew
- Captain Alison Blake - Human Female
- Captain Blake has commanded the Skylark for the past eight years, including through several risky situations and a period supporting anti-piracy patrols. She was in her quarters when the Klingons appeared from behind a moon and attacked. Her body was found in the main computer control room, where she activated an encryption protocol to prevent it from being accessed if the ship was boarded. It appears that when the ship's engines were hit, she struck her head on a console and died due to a traumatic brain injury.
- Lt. Cahaya Ismail - Helm - Human Male
- Ismail was on the bridge during the attack. He was struck by shrapnel but managed to get the ship into hiding, only to bleed out during surgery.
- Lt. Commander sh'Veysan - Andorian Female - Chief Engineer
- Sh'Veysan was noted for an abrasive personality and thought she had earned a place on a more prestigious starship. She was killed along with most of the day shift engineering crew when the rear saucer was hit with a torpedo.
- Lt. Commander Virket - Chief Science Officer - Caitian Male
- Virket was on the bridge during the attack and was killed by an explosion when the deck below took a direct disruptor hit. He was the one who first spotted the Klingon cruiser and gave just enough warning for the shields to be raised.
- Lt. Movet Fel - Operations Officer - Deltan Female
- Fel was on the bridge during the attack and was killed by an explosion when the deck below took a direct disruptor hit. Before that, she successfully made contact with the nearest starbase and called for help.
Other NPCs
Commander Tork, Son of Gotreth, of the House of Mogh
Tork is commander of the battlecruiser Razorwind. As the third son of Mogh's youngest brother, Tork has no prospects of inheritance and has had to make the most of his abilities to earn a place of respect in the empire. During T'Kuvma's War, he took over a bird-of-prey after its commander died in a firefight with USS Kenya and proved himself an exceptionally skilled captain. His performance, and the loyalties of his House, earned him a place as commander of one of the new D-7 battlecruisers in Chancellor L'Rell's centralized Klingon Defense Force. Since then, he has crossed swords with Starfleet vessels in several skirmishes along the border and disputed zone.
Tork is an honorable and unfailingly polite man, with a keen desire to clash with worthy opponents. He has more respect for Starfleet than many of his peers. This does not change his insistence that System KD-4489 is part of Klingon space and that he has every right to take the Skylark and its crew as prizes, although he says they will be given honorable treatment in respect for their courage and skill when faced with a more powerful opponent - for whatever that is worth.
