Mission: One Giant Kaboom
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: MD 01, 1750

It was early evening when Jason came striding into sickbay at a hurried pace. He was carrying a covered plastic tray in one hand, and his face and neck were looking decidedly more green and puffy than usual.

"Any doctors or nurses around?" he called out.

Amon was in his office, working on reports and duty rosters, when he heard, what he believed was, the Captain's voice. There should have been at least one nurse on at this time but sometimes their work does take them out to medkit lockers around the ship. Amon was up as that realization came to mind and he walked into sickbay proper to see a green faced Faulkner, the Captain was a little bloated as well around a green neck.

The Metamorph rushed over, grabbing a medical tricorder off a nearby trolley as he went to Jason. "What did you do Captain?" Amon asked as he began the scans, the handheld portable scan amplifier in his other hand hovering over the greened areas.

"I went to a dinner party that Commodore Chaudhuri was hosting for the captains of ships departing this week," Jason replied, referring to the station's commander. "Towards the end of desert, I started getting all tingly and puffy." He lifted the tray. "I grabbed some of everything I ate, and I hit myself with a neoepi patch, but I'm not sure it's doing much."

After the scan Amon frowned. "Looks like your body doesn't like whatever it was you ate," he said as he went over to the medication station. "I'll make something for you, though its a broad sweep so report any effects immediately."

The Metamorph shook his head with a sigh before he grabbed the mixture plastic tube with a green colour and inserted it into a hypospray, he walked back and held it up to the Captain's bicep. "Ready? I will need a little time to study the scans to investigate what is going on properly but this should help get you back to duty."

"Yeah, hit me," Jason said, looking straight ahead and trying to breath steadily. "This isn't my first rodeo, although I would have sworn I'd had everything before. Might be a different recipe or something."

For effect even though he didn't have to, Amon jabbed the hypospray against Jason's arm just below the shoulder. He then used repositioned his fingers to actually do the injection. A slight smirk slowly on his lips as he watched his commanding officer.

"There, done," he said a moment later. "Now give it a few minutes to settle." Amon put the empty hypo to the side before coming around to stand in front of Jason. "Maybe less trying out new foods and more of what you know, yeah?" He asked with the smirk now in full boom.

"It was just Indian food," Jason protested. "Although... are Earth peppers teal? I don't know, these allergies flare-ups never make any sense. None of other humans or Vulcans had any issues."

"Ha!" Amon chuckled. "Hybrids, you never know what could result in the mixing of two species especially with different blood composition. Even after medically sound." He gestured at Jason. "Did you check to see how any other Human-Vulcan hybrids had any issues? Just Humans or Vulcans huh?"

Jason laughed. "I was the only one in attendance. There aren't that many of us around and we're all a bit bespoke. I take mostly after my human side in gross anatomy, but there's still a bunch of weirdness at the cellular and biochemical level. The genetic compatibility treatments work well at keeping us viable these days, but the fine details are still idiosyncratic, much to my more Vulcan compatriots' annoyance."

At that Amon laughed. "Indeed," he had read some published documentation on many species medical situations. It helped him with his own problems to a degree. "As I said Captain I will do a bloodwork and will report what I find." He said and grabbed an empty vile hypospray from the tools bench before rounding the bed to the Captain's other side and giving the Captain's bicep a few squeezes.

Amon then jabbed the hypo against the bicep and pulled the back piece out slowly. Greenish-red blood filled the vile and Amon squeezed Jason's bicep again to encourage more blood production. "Well you're good to go sir." Amon smiled.

"Thank you," Jason said. "And before you ask, I promise that if I have any more symptoms I'll call sickbay immediately. I learned that lesson at a young age."

"Not call, come to sickbay you mean?" Amon said with a 'what-was-that' kind of tone then added. "Take care!" He made his way over to the equipment station to begin the blood analysis.

"Come, call, crawl, whatever is appropriate," Jason assured him before heading off to his quarters, planning to hit the sack early since his evening had been cut off so suddenly. Maybe it was a sign from the universe to get some rest ahead of the big day.
